Born in 1966, Georges Casteig is a French composer.
He began his classical training in Bordeaux with Doru Dogaru, concertmaster of the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, before continuing his studies at the Polyphonies School of Composition under the guidance of composer Jean-Luc Kuczynski. There, he further developed his knowledge of harmony, counterpoint, fugue and orchestration, before devoting himself fully to composition.
His music is characterized by its lyricism, aesthetic independence and freedom of expression. Unconstrained by fixed stylistic conventions, he has developed a personal musical language in which creation is, above all, a space for freedom and self-expression.
Several of his works have been performed in concert, including Paradis perdu (Paradise Lost), performed by the Trio Érable, and La Chapelle oubliée (The Forgotten Chapel), performed by violinist Pauline Larreta and pianist Audrey Lonca-Alberto.
